With Giulio Ceppi to Mangiagalli: a 'sensorial' re-qualification for a more humane hospital
28/04/2017
Think of "hospital language", making it more homey and welcoming, always in line with the needs of functionality, which in sanitary building assume a specific average weight higher than any other type of building. This is the underlying objective of Poli.Comfort Room, a singular and interesting project realized by the Total Tool study by Milanese architect Giulio Ceppi for the Milan Clinic (Clinica Mangiagalli).
Born from the collaboration with the Fondazione Ca 'Granda, from the 2014 facility of the Milan Police Department, this room wants to be, in the intentions of the buyers and designers, a sort of "small seed", a possible model for the development of new forms of hospital design .
Located within the Department of Radiology of the Mangiagalli Clinic, the room has made possible through its design a research on materials, lighting parameters, colors and environmental finishes as "perceptual and cultural elements to govern and manage for creation Of a more everyday language of the hospital, in a new functional perspective. " For the realization of this experiment, the collaboration of important technical partners and designers (Artemide, Coelux, Knoll, Magis, Paola Lenti) is also fundamental.
